About
Hi! I am Jen Thompson and I started GwenGecko in 2019. GwenGecko is myself, my kids, and my mom, so we are 3 generations of reptile lovers working with gargoyle geckos, crested geckos, and leopard geckos. This is our hobby first and foremost, with the goal to produce healthy, high quality animals. Though we have a moderately large collection of geckos, (many can be found on MorphMarket in our NFS section), we only do a handful of pairings per year. We believe strongly in quality over quantity and responsible and ethical breeding and husbandry practices. We do not believe in breeding all our adult animals every year just to produce as many babies to sell as we can. We disagree strongly with the "Walmart" approach to breeding reptiles. Our adults are given time off as well, so they are not expected to produce babies every year either. We are extremely selective with our holdbacks, choosing only cream of the crop animals for our breeding projects (sometimes that means only 1 holdback from a pair for the whole year, if that). We strive to produce top quality geckos with known genetics and lineage. Each gecko's health and history is tracked and monitored, and veterinary care is always sought when needed. Our breeding stock comes from many known, well established and highly respected breeders in the industry. Lineages can be found on each gecko's page on MorphMarket and eventually here in the GSGC. Each of our geckos are given individual attention to ensure health and well-being, and to help with socializing jumpy babies.
